The Center for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning is located in Miller Library. Instructors utilize the CETAL for course development and technology support.
CETAL Computer Lab
The CETAL computer lab is located in Miller Library and is reserved for faculty/staff professional development and their general use. It is open from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Mon-Fri and is staffed by the Office of Online and Distance Education at 575-538-6101. The following list includes some of the online course development tools that are available on the CETAL workstations:

Quality Matters
Quality Matters (QM) is a nationally recognized faculty-centered peer review process designed to certify the quality of online courses and online components. QM tools are used to develop, maintain and review online courses and to train faculty. VoiceThread
Integrated within Canvas, VoiceThread facilitates human interaction in online classes beyond traditional written discussion boards. Students and instructors can participate and collaborate asynchronously, anytime, from anywhere, using webcam, audio and text.

TutorMe eTutoring
TutorMe is a 24/7 online tutoring service available to all WNMU students. With TutorMe students can connect and interact with a live tutor, submit assignments to a writing tutor for help and review, or utilize an interactive white board.
- TutorMe is accessed via any Canvas course or professional development Canvas shell. The link is at the bottom of the course’s home menu. You can also access the service by clicking on the purple TutorMe icon in Mustang Express.
Respondus
Respondus is a powerful tool for creating and managing exams and surveys that can be printed to paper or published directly to Canvas. Contact staff in the Office of Online and Distance Education to incorporate this product into your teaching: 575-538-6648.

Electronic Reserves
Print items such as journal articles or book chapters can be scanned and stored electronically in Canvas for student use. Miller Library staff collaborate with staff from the Office of Online and Distance Education to create reserve materials that are electronically accessible to students. IT-Service
The IT-Service department provides technology support to faculty and staff. Contact IT-Service to submit a HELP ticket, request a new device, request service, report an issue, view FAQs, update directory information, etc.

Miller Library

Academic Alert
The Academic Alert program is designed to enhance student success. In an effort to assist and retain students who are at risk of failing, dropping out of a course, or withdrawing from the University, program advisors reach out to students and offer supportive services necessary for them to be successful.
