We offer certificates to meet specific education and employment goals.

Graduate Certificates

Students can earn a Graduate Certificate in a specific content area. Several academic areas offer 15-18 credit hour graduate certificates online. Hours earned toward a Graduate Certificate can often be used toward a master’s degree. Courses are delivered asynchronously online.

Border Security Studies

An 18-hour online graduate certificate program that acquaints students with the unique environment of border-related law enforcement.

Criminal Justice

The Department of Interdisciplinary Studies offers an 18-hour online graduate certificate in Criminal Justice.

Digital Forensics

This 18-credit hour certificate program prepares students to recognize and retrieve evidence necessary to successfully prosecute cyber crimes. Businesses and government agencies also need employees knowledgeable in the field to help prevent and detect computer fraud.

Educational Leadership

Prepares educators who have a qualifying master’s degree for the New Mexico 3B License in School Administration. The certificate program requires 18 credit hours and all coursework is offered online. An additional 6 credit hours of internship are completed following the certificate to qualify for the New Mexico 3B License in School Administration.

Undergraduate Certificates

Early Childhood Education

Certificates are a stepping stone into the Early Childhood Education program.  All courses taken toward an Early Childhood certificate will count towards an associate’s and/or bachelor’s degree. Certificates can be earned in three areas: Child Development Certificate, Early Childhood Education and Family Studies Vocational Certificate, and Infant Family Studies Certificate.
